Lead Platform Engineer

Penrose Studios crafts ground-breaking immersive stories, and needs your help building a platform for this new artistic medium.  We seek a passionate and experienced lead engineer who is excited about guiding a team responsible for delivering our content on a large variety of VR and AR devices.  You’ll collaborate with the artistic team to optimize content for various platforms and create new tools to help the release and porting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Help determine ways of adapting content for a large list of VR and AR devices
  • Collaborate with the content team to develop plans for releasing material on numerous platforms
  • Manage a team of platform engineers who are responsible for our content release process, and content porting
  • Optimize VR content for release on a variety of platforms
  • Design and develop tools to aid aspects of the build, port, and release processes

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience in games, visual effects or related field
  • At least one year of software engineering leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of at least one game engine
  • Strong knowledge of C++, Python, C, C#, or Java
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong debugging, profiling, and run-time analysis skills

Preferred

  • Experience with Android and or iOS development
  • Experience with SDKs and writing plugins for third party applications
  • Experience developing cross platform software
